Info: Our guest is the President of Southern Methodist University, R. Gerald Turner. He has been President at SMU since 1995. Southern Methodist University is located in Dallas and will be the site of the George W. Bush Presidential Library, expected to open in 2013. SMU is a private university with about 11,000 students. Its current endowment is approximately $1.1 billion. From 1984 to 1995, R. Gerald Turner was Chancellor of the University of Mississippi. He was Vice-President at the University of Oklahoma from 1979 to 1984 and taught at Pepperdine University from 1975 to 1979.
