Info: Evan Osnos has just returned from China where he has been living since 2005 and has been working for The New Yorker since last October. Previously he worked for the Chicago Tribune in China as well as the Middle East, reporting mostly from Iraq. He covered the US invasion there up to the country's first post-war elections. He was also based in Cairo and reported from a variety of countries including Iran, Syria, and Saudi Arabia. Before that, he covered the aftermath of 9/11 as the paper's New York correspondent. He joined the Chicago Tribune in 1999 where he was the only Tribune reporter assigned to cover the 2000 Barack Obama congressional race. He graduated from Harvard College in 1998.
